As a developer you need a system that is powerful enough to support your programming needs while simple enough for your client to use. Tweak just might do the trick.
There are a lot of systems out there, ranging from free open-source to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Obviously no one system has it all, and Tweak is no exception.
So what does Tweak offer a developer? Well, here are a few things we think you'll appreciate:
- Use semantic, standards-compliant code in your template.
We're big fans of semantic markup that actually validates and we're also big fans of websites that can be maintained via a CMS. Tweak lets us have both. Tweak uses your CSS classes and IDs to determine what areas of the layout should be editable and dynamic. - Nothing to install.
We host the CMS on a clustered array of servers in a Tier-1 data center and regular backups (local and offsite) keep you protected from data loss. No need to install anything at all...just create an account. - Publishes any file type, including flat HTML files.
Need a PHP site for one client and an ASP site for another? No problem. Tweak sort of "compiles" a website, so you can decide what file format you'd like and voila! For ultra-optimized sites, choose to publish them as flat HTML files.
- Mix server-side code into your template or content.
Tweak lets you embed server-side code in either your template (if you want it to execute on every page) or within a single page. Build a website that is both manageable and dynamic! Connect to a database and display results within a page, use the view from an MVC framework, etc. Tweak lets you mix static and dynamic content at will. - Host anywhere on any platform.
Tweak publishes the final website to any FTP server of your choosing. Linux box or Windows box...doesn't matter. - Website uptime is in your hands, not ours.
Because your client's live website doesn't actually reside on our servers, we're not responsible for the uptime. No need to worry about your client's site going down on our account...you choose the hosting provider you trust most and Tweak will transfer the updated website files automatically anytime they get changed in the CMS.
